A few months ago Mission Adelante was approached by Kate, a Girl Scout who is working on her Gold Award Project. For her project she is working on putting together 60 to 80 backpacks of school supplies to distribute to the kids of Mission Adelante this fall when they start back to school. As part of her project she raised the funds to take 8 of our girls to Girl Scout Daycamp this past week. They had a great time learning to do new things, including wood carving, candle making, fishing and how to fold an American Flag. It was a lot of fun to get them out of the neighborhood in to what they call the "jungle".
